I know this. I swear I know this. I studied last night! Did we even learn this? Oh my Gosh! Alright calm down, you have plenty of time. You have five minutes left. Oh no, I have 15 more questions left! Hurry up, just Christmas tree it!
Everyone has been at that point in their life when they look at the first question on a test and realize that they’ve learned nothing. It’s okay, it’s a fact of life to fail at least one test in your high school career (or for overachievers, feel as if you failed when you get a low C) and even though you’re probably having an anxiety attack and worrying about how the rest of your life is now ruined, you will eventually get over it.
However, one thing you will never get over is that one person who cheated on the test you failed. Not only are you irritated that they got a better grade than you that they didn’t deserve, but they ruined the curve, which kept you at a failing grade. You came in like a wrecking ball cheater, ruining my life forever.
This may sound a bit extreme, but admit it, you’ve been here before and you felt the exact same way. I don’t really care what other people do with their life, as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone and doesn’t affect me or what I hold dear. And my grades are what I hold dear.
That old saying that a cheater is only hurting themselves because they’re not learning anything is so not true. They are hurting every single person who was honest taking that test and got a lower grade than them.
Now I’m not saying that all cheaters are horrible people who ruin everyone around them’s lives, but to all those cheaters out there: think about who else you might be affecting and how many hard working people’s grade you could be ensuring stay in the dumps.
